Falkson
Amanda supports third sector CEOs via her Tough
at the Top professional peer support groups and one-to-one coaching.
She also has a psychotherapy
practice in the City of London.
She co-founded The Food Chain and continued to be a member of the management committee for several years. She worked in a variety of posts for Carers National Assocation (now Carers UK) and as a therapist for The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. She has been working independently for the past twelve years. She writes a regular column in Third Sector Magazine under the moniker of ‘The Career Coach’ advising CEOs on the many and varied human issues that they face in heading up an organisation.
Amanda cut her teeth in advertising and hospitality. She went on to set up and run a successful event management company and her business background constantly proves useful within the changing nature of the third sector.
In her not-so-spare time she is a member of the Independent Advisory Group to the City of London Police.
Martin
Farrell
Martin has been in and around the voluntary sector for more than three
decades since volunteering in the rough end of Manchester and in a South
African handcraft charity in the early 1970s.
He has held senior positions in large, small and middle size organisations and has accumulated a broad range of experience of different professional areas.
He has been working independently since 1999 and helps people and organisations to ‘get2thepoint’, which is the name of his consultancy. He founded the Chief Executives’ crisis support service for acevo in 2002 and now runs it with Lois Graessle.

Martin is Chair of Time Banking UK, until its recent merger, Vice Chair of Student Volunteering England and is trustee of Read International. He also writes a regular column ‘Under the Boardtalk’ for Governance magazine.
